What the $@#$*& is this....

I was cleaning out my bank safety box to make room for my Daytona and I cam across this band. It is a long story but I will try to be concise. My Mother was the executor for a US Army Colonel who was in charge of cleaning up Japan after WWII. I purchased a fancy silver box that he was given by the emperor and this was in the lot. It says Rolex on it and marked .375. , cy & co and WAB. Someone know anything about this band? Is it something someone would want to buy or should I just scrape it? It is actually a nice gold color, but I guess I forgot to white balance.

Mike

MADE IN ENGLAND???? you sir have something rare: It is DOLEX band .... look how crappy the steel looks ... I bet you can scrape off the steel with a razor blade ....it is proably aluminum ... but be careful, it might crack into many pieces ....Look at the crown on the bracelet: 4 marks on the crown ...It is screaming "FAKE!!!!" ... I thought the crown had 5 .....it just doesn't have the steel finish/look .... I seriously doubt it is steel ....

No it solid metal. I think .375 means it is 9K.

the MADE IN ENGLAND is disturbing .... it should say SWISS MADE, at the least ...could be an aftermarket item...look at the crown on the clasp .... it is going overboard and it has 4 lines .... rolex crowns have 5 lines ....

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried...

9kt gold is very common in England and Australia - but is not an accepted grade in other countries.

No doubt this is genuine and was commissioned by Rolex for manufacture in England.

Nice piece - what size are the end pieces?

I am not trying to be pos or neg ... I am commenting on what I see ,,,, I have never seen a Rolex crown with 4 lines .... if there is, then I am wrong and i will gladly appologize ... just from the pics, the crown and MADE IN ENGLAND just sounds suspicious ... well the crwon looks suspicious ...if it has 5, I can't see the 5th one ... may be it is the way pics are taken ...can you please point out where the 5th one is?

No, I am not a doctor ... my job is to interrogate poeple .... I scrutinize every little thing told to me until there is nothing left ... all loose ends are tied ...if the story is legit, it is legit from all angles ... if not, then I can poke holes through it ....and catch them ...

I just found CY&Co in a listing of British gold companies- the company was in business as early as the 1860's- to actually determine what you have, you need to look at the tiny hallmarks...

It is definitely pre 1975 - and after 1932 - due to the .375 mark

Can't find the WAP anywhere.

My guess is that this was from the same era as when Rolex and other Swiss watchmakers outsourced their bracelet manufacture to avoid import tariffs.

This is the best I could crop the photo, count the red dots, there are five of them.
Your job may be to interrogate people, good for you... but nobody comes on to this forum to be interrogated or told how crappy a product they have - especially when you clearly don't know what you are talking about.

Nope...I'm tapped out.

My guess is that you have something pretty rare and valuable. Somewhere there is a watch crying out for that bracelet and an owner who REALLY wants it!

I'm the first to admit my knowledge about bracelets could be better, but back in the day bracelets were not only made in England, but Mexico and the USA for two others.

I believe USA bracelets could be had into the mid 70s.
