Icon20 Tritium 16610 Submariner - TIME CAPSULE SET

Here is the story:

I meet the original owner of this watch. I comment on the condition and the fact that he has everything, but never told me so over the phone. It's at this point in the conversation I realize I am not talking to a WIS - actually, far from it. According to the original owner, he and a friend went into business together in 1997. The partner purchased both of them Rolex's to wear "for the business". He wore the watch every day until they parted ways in or around 2000. At that point, he put the watch back in the box and the box into a drawer where it sat until he moved a few months ago. After the move, a few months ago, his home was robbed and they took everything of value, but left the watch. Why? They didn't know it was there. The watch was in the bottom of a bag in a corner as he had never gotten around to unpacking it. Why sell the watch now? He thought he had better sell the watch before something happened to it, "since it's worth something."

Now: The Watch

A T-Serial Submariner dating to 1997, the case never opened, the watch never serviced, it has not seen daylight since around 2000 until yesterday when I became the new owner. This thing is absolutely unbelievable! You won't find marks on the bottom of the lugs where some unsteady watchmaker haphazardly replaced the bracelet because - the bracelet has never been removed!!!

The bracelet is, obviously, the correct Z1 date coded bracelet, non-SEL. While there are wear marks on the case sides and bracelet from a couple years daily wear, a quick and light polish and Scotchbrite treatment would have it looking like new, if that's what you want. For me, for a tritium Sub, it is absolutely perfect, and I wouldn't touch it. Of course, I would send it in for movement service and gasket replacement ... I think. I'm timing it now, and will post the results tomorrow, if it hasn't already sold.

Again, everything on the watch is all original, all tritium. No crystal chips, period. There is a blemish on the bezel insert between minute markers 1 and 3, which can only be seen when turned just right in the right light. See the pics.

FULL SET: Certificate (papers), all three books, polishing cloth, anchor still in sealed plastic envelope, book separator card, document envelope, both boxes, pillow, suede "blanket", and foam pad. See pics.

In fact, I will quit rambling and let the pics speak for themselves.

I am located in Aiken, South Carolina and prefer a cash face to face deal, but will ship the watch with a bank to bank wire transfer. PayPal gift is OK, you pay the fees. Full refund if misrepresented. I prefer to sell to a forum member with a little time here. If you need references, there are a couple of very well known members of this forum who will vouch for me.

PRICE: $3,650 - SHIPPING INCLUDED!!!

The best way to reach me quickly is swissautopro @ att . net (less the spaces), but PM's forward to my Blackberry as well.

Thanks,
Mike
