My future brother in Law has that Oris.
He has had his in twice for service and it is about to go back for a third time as it is not holding a wind. I always thought Oris had some nice watches but after listening to his problems with his and how horrid its been dealing with customer service Ill pass. As for Tag... Well I have never liked Tag Id look at a Marathon or a Seiko Monster.

Out of the two you list, I would go with the Oris. However, for a beater on a rubber strap, I would go with a Seiko Monster. best bang for the buck out there and the lume on them is killer

The new Aquaracer is a beautiful looking watch and would be a great choice.
That said, I've got an Oris diver (49mm Meistertaucher) and can say that it's wonderful. I use it as a beater for camping where it gets really roughly handled carrying firewood, pitching tents etc and it's held up really well and still looks like new. The rubber straps are really nice too. The Oris has an advantage in that it's a very distinctive design. Nobody would confuse it for any other brand. I had an issue with the winding mechanism getting stuck so it moved the rotor around upon winding. It was fixed very quickly and returned so I've no complaints about the warranty service. Both the Tag and the Oris use generic movements so they should hold up as well as each other over the long term. I'm actually considering an aquaracer for my next purchase.

Have you checked out Marathon?
They're pretty sweet, the rubber straps are brilliant, and the lume is outrageous. Less than half the price of either the Tag or Oris.
