Kyle, it is OK, the watchmaker will fix it for you, do not let a little scratch ruin your whole day.

What diameter spring bars are you using, if they're the 'fat boys' - try switchin em out for the thin ones used for DJs...
The smaller bar will bring the shell in closer to the mid case...

Kyle:

I have a Rolex USA Jubilee and I wasn't happy with the end links. On the USA bracelets, the end links didn't have the little tubes for the spring bars, so they sort of floated around between the lugs.

For kicks, I ordered some generic Swiss made end links on ebay and they fit perfectly. The little tubes are formed by bending the material into a loop, rather than a welded tube. I was able to expand these loops a bit to fit my 2mm Submariner spring bars and they look perfect. My case has the drilled lugs and the holes are the size for the big Submariner Spring bars. These end links are normally fitted for the 1.8mm spring bars and have a slot so you can fit them to the modern cases without the through holes.

Anyway, the Ebay id number of the ones I ordered is 360237446015 and they were $6.99 for two sets. They come in a brushed finish, but about five minutes later with a buffing wheel on the Dremel, I had nice shiny end links like the Rolex USA versions, but with a nice tight fit to the case.

I am on my way to Florida for a few weeks and don't have a chance to take a photo of the new end links, but here is the Rolex USA end links. Below it is the Modern Oyster fitted and these generic end links for the Jubilee fit as nice as the Rolex Oyster shown in the second Photo.
