Baselworld unveiling vs Rolex website
This is the first year that I have been a true follower of Rolex and Baselworld, and my question is about the timing of Rolex's unveiling of their updated watches. Basically, I want to see the new models as soon as they have been unveiled.
Firstly, assuming, Baselworld opens at, say, 9am on 18 March, does that mean that the watches are unveiled immediately at the Rolex stand/display, or do they have a scheduled unveiling at a particular time so as not to clash with other manufacturers? Secondly, does Rolex usually put the new models up on its website on the first morning of Basel, or again does it depend on a scheduled unveiling? I'm in Australia and I've set my alarm to check the web as soon as Basel starts (yes, sad, I know). |

I'm in the same boat as you. I don't know how this works, but want to see Rolex, Breitling, and Omega's new watches ASAP. I don't wish to know next fall. If it were on pay per view, I would buy it.
Basel is 20.5 hours from opening. |

There is a baselworld.com website which has a section for brand news but I don't know how often they will update.

IMO...Crazy would be setting an alarm for every hour of at least the first night (in your part of the world) to check on updates.
Unfortunately I only have enough alarms from all of my different alarm clocks to cover 4 hours...The honorable title of Craziest is still up for grabs if anyone is game... |

basel newbie question:
the convention lasts several days....are all the models released on the first day? or might some new model releases be sprinkled throughout the show? TIA |
