Close Encounter Shopping.

Was in Tescos, doing my husband chore duty, getting a few bottles of beer, and other less important household things. When I came across this gorgeous approx 30 yr old slightly oriental looking lady who was looking at me longingly.Well truthfully she was looking' at me longingly. But only because the motive was to ask could I reach up for a bottle of gherkins for her, on the top shelf, me being tall sort of guy.

Even I couldn't believe my reaction and reply.

How could I possibly refuse such a request from such a gorgeous looking lady. And if I can't reach, I'll go and get a box to stand on to get them JUST for you."

I reached for them and placed them in her trolley. She thanked me and I walked off very quickly, smiling and grinning to myself like some demented teenager.Have I gone nuts, am I going senile. Or am I just chancing my luck, thinking I've still got the charm? Do I need help?, but a smile from a pretty girl is one of nature's tonics.Makes you feel good all over and also makes you feel young again.Just DON'T tell Mrs Padi as she will either blow a fuse, or extract the urin# for weeks about you being a Old Fool.I suspect that the word gherkin triggered a reaction in my own gherkin, and the rest was on auto pilot. What fools we men are...a smile for a bottle of gherkins...and I was easily pleased. Can you imagine what she may have done for an Italian salami.

When looking at the ladies Robert, the type of watch, or even if she is wearing a watch, is the least important factor I can assure you.

Translation = men like to flirt and can get away with it/enjoy it in the name of "doing a good deed"

I frequent a coffee stand populated by 20-something gals that could be my daughters age wise. A good portion of why I go there is the playful banter and inuedo that ensues. Frankly, I enjoy their young, impulsive, giggly and unbroken spirit. Makes me happy and Proustian all at the same time... I chalk it up to one of life's little pleasures.

I know exactly how you feel Padi.

I bet if she would have said she forgot her money, you would have paid for it too...I would have.

Yes we males are all subject to that nice smile.......from a beautiful young lady. As we get older, it seems to be nicer(as long as we are not with our wives )
By chance did the oriental woman look like this......BTW can you tell what watch she is wearing

Life can be good sometimes
