This does happen, I've seen it on a few models where the crystal has no cyclops.

It should be at 6 o'clock, but the Daytona does not have a date cyclops so the crystal could have been put on 90 deg out. its a simple fix, but one wonders why it is out of kilter in the first place. Who last serviced the watch? btw, my eyes cannot see the LEC on your photo |

Dont think it matters where it is on crystal some non cyclops models have it different positions. Its so hard to see with naked eye anyway so why worry where it is its not really all that important as long as its there.

LEC = Laser Etched Coronet, It could have been opened by anyone who knows what they're doing to be honest but I wouldn't worry yourself about it

There is probably a method that Rolex uses to index the crown properly at the 6 oclock position, but sometimes the best method goes awry.. It is, however, of little concern except to your own sense of detail............ the crystal is exactly the same all around and functions regardless..

At the factory, does anyone know if the crystals are installed by hand or by machine (robot)?
