question about Rolex distribution
I have a question.
I ordered 2 new Rolex watches from an AD. One for my wife and one for myself. My wife's watch came in within 2 weeks. My watch is taking a week or more longer to arrive at the AD. Why the delay, did my wifes come from a distribution center in the US, but mine is coming in from Geneva? It just seems like 3-4 weeks for a standard Rolex is a long time. Maybe they get stuck in customs or something? just curious |

Well, Rolex USA will keep a stock of watches on site - if they don't have a particular model in stock, then they'll have to wait for a shipment from Geneva

So if an AD doesn't have the Rolex you want, say one with a salmon dial, they can order it? And will they charge extra for that?
Thanks for the help, researching for my first Rolex. |

They can order anything you want and will not charge more; but you will have to wait. When I got my 118238 I had to wait 7 months (it was just released @ Basel). Also, popular models (GMT, EXPy, DJ) are usually in stock @ New York.

Thanks! I can handle the wait... it's well worth it to get the exact watch I want.

I'm not sure if it's the case in the US, but the RSC here carries a stock of dials as well, and are able to do a dial change on a new watch free of charge. Should be a bit quicker than waiting to take delivery of one
