I've always noticed the mercedes was curved but never knew why specifically. Cheers!

I counted 25 second-hands and at the the exposure rate of 3.2 seconds, that's 25.6 beats.

Great shots.

I have always thought that curving the skeleton hand was a complication that would be harder for imitators and counterfeiters to replicate. Probably not, though, at least these days.

Curved Hand

Great information Larry.. and thanks for sharing the close-up pics. It's the first time I knew the hour hands are curved !

To make sure that this is a complete discussion..

..........Here is Jockes photo of the hand by itself...

As can be seen by this shot, it is not really "bent", although that is still a good description of the top...

Rather, the hand is domed, or shaped with a curve across the top.......
