Calling all Melbournians

Just a quick question, as I know there are more than a couple of you out there

I'll be coming down for a short stay sometime soon, and I was just wondering what hotels you would recommend? Ideally a balance between good price, some style and convenience to inner city (ie: shopping... GF will be coming too )

Thanks guys

Otis, we guys already stay in our own places here, so what would we know about hotels in Melbourne?

Okay, seriously, one that I thought of is the Hotel Y, and having done a check it's now called the Jasper Hotel (www.jasperhotel.com.au). It's right on the edge of the CBD, and a queen-bed room is $190. I'm not sure what your price bracket is, but if it suits, the hotel should serve the purpose nicely.

When are you popping over? Steve and I both work in the city, so we'll have to have a beer with you!

Too funny actually, since I had that very thought before I posted this! Don't worry... I'd be in the same boat here in Brisbane

Thanks for the tip though, I'll make sure to check that one out.

Sounds good! Tentative plans at the moment are around the 5th of may weekend and surrounding days, but we'll see how it goes with flights and whatnot. I'll keep you posted

For sure! I need a bit of a large-watch fix I think, and no doubt you'll have your new one to show off

Do I like Belgian beers? Hell, give me a 1/2 litre of Leffe & a cone of Frittes and I'm a happy man. Great plan
