Paypal question

Is there anything you need to worry about with using Paypal for payment? Can you be ripped off with using it to accept payment?

if using paypal to accept payment make sure the buyer is confirmed.. Meaning, the buyer passes paypal's security screening and buyers address matches credit card and/or bank account address. Ask for references as well..

I have also heard (but have no first hand experiences to speak of) that Paypal can also freeze your account for any reason. That means you cannot withdraw the funds.

Buyers/sellers are both protected. Once the funds are in the account, there is no way to retract it. Either party must file a complaint, ie. goods were not as promised, etc. When this happens, PayPal puts a freeze on the funds until the issue is remedied.
Buy/Sell away!!!

Beware. Several scams on Paypal. If the seller gets the money for an expensive watch and ships you a brick by slow mail. Meanwhile gets money out of his account then closes their certified bank account you may be screwed! Also watch for anyone saying they want money as a gift not for merchandise.

always deal with trusted seller and buyers by doing search for their feedback and posts.

always use EXPRESS shipping , its worth extra few bucks.

exchange phone #s and confirm the addresses

I never had problems with paypal and only deal with sellers who offer money back policy less shipping....

The protection applies ONLY if both seller and buyer accounts are verified. Also you must do the purchase for merchandise. Sending money as a gift as many sellers on TRF prefer offers no protection. The seller is responsible for all fees. Also if the seller asks more for the item when payment is made by paypal, like adding 3% to the cost, over other forms of payments this is in violation of paypal's TOS.

I personally prefer all transactions thru paypal. It is much better protected then the usually requested bank transfers or Western Onioin I see here.

Always know your seller or buyer and you can also check their paypal feedback.

I would only use Paypal within the walls of eBay when receiving payment for merchandise ....

I don't mind paying via paypal , I would however rather not accept it as payment . It does protect more the buyer then the seller .

it protects both sellers and buyers on ebay, If the seller has less than 100 feedbacks, paypal will freeze the funds until feedback is made or 21 days.

With my experiences paypal protects the buyer more than the seller. You can get a watch put it on your wrist. Call paypal and tell them you never got it and if you are the seller you will have to jump through hoops of fire to get your watch back. I would much rather buy here from a respected seller with good feedback. My 2 cents, Ebay SUCKS.
