So I spotted a friend of a friend wearing a "folex"
So I will make a long story short. I went out to Texas this weekend to visit some friends. One of them noticed that I was wearing a Rolex and was somewhat surprised that I would wear such a watch. I just brushed it off and didn't want to dwell on the subject. So a group of us went out one night (my friends along with some friends of friends) to get some drinks. The friend that noticed my watch earlier pointed out that one of his friends also has a Rolex. So he held his wrist out and right away I knew it was a fake.
It was a fake President, and not a good one by any means. The Crown had no "Crown" symbol on it for starters, the day window read "_Saturda" and not "Saturday" so the weekday wheel was off, and the letters for the weekdays were in red (I am just guessing here, but I don't know if any presidential models are offered with red letters for the the weekday); The crown emblem on the dial was crooked and the dial was overall was just very choppy. The worst of it all was that it was supposed to be yellow gold and you could see on the sharper edges that are most prone to wear of the bracelet and watch itself that steel was just starting to show through. Just an overall bad fake. OK, so if you want to wear a "folex" I won't hold anything against you, but he was playing it off like it was the greatest thing. I didn't want to start anything and point out the obvious especially since he is a friend of a friend and just let it all slide. Sorry for my rant but I just had to get that out of my system. |
