Watch Art

TRF'ers:

My wife is an artist who works primarily in oil on canvas. I convinced her to paint a watch movement and I think the results are stunning.

Her painting technique (called the Flemish Method, or so I believe) involved painting multiple layers on top of each other starting with "dead" layers then umbral layers and then finally color layers. The end results are very impressive.

Anyway, she has a typical artist's self-esteem meaning she doesn't think her work is very good, etc. I am so impressed with the picture of the movement (which has one layer left to go) that I am sending prints of the finished piece to my favorite watch stores/dealers.

I am posting the picture here and if anyone would like a print from the finished work, just let me know. I can't give away prints for free because apparently its costing me several hundred dollars to make each print (technically its my wife's business, but I am her investor) but if anyone wants one - its really a loss leader for me.

Also I am trying to do a market survey, so please answer the poll if you don't mind!

My hope is she sells the original for big bucks and buys me a watch!!! or so she has promised!

Sorry everyone - I meant to post a poll, but could not do so because I kept encountering the DOS issues which plagued the board this weekend.

If I remember, the movement is an AP skeleton minute repeater/tourbillion

----

It seems I cannot post a poll now! If a moderator can help, that would be great

my poll is

How much would you pay for a 24x24 limited edition (25) print of the picture?
(a) nothing - don't quit your day job
(b) <250.00 dollars
(c) >250 but less than 500 dollars
(d) >500 but less than 1000 dollars
(e) 1000+ dollars

(this is for marketing purposes)
