Input Requested re: Two-tone SS Bracelet on 116710
All -
Thanks for taking the time to read this post. I am considering having the center of the two-tone SS bracelet of my 116710 brushed to match the rest of the link. The watch is a true stunner when it first arrives, but for someone as anal as I am about it being clean and pristine - I find myself constantly wiping the bracelet down to remove oils, smudges, etc. A couple of questions: 1 - What are people's experience with this process? I would love to hear from some of you that have completed this process or considered it (via PM if you prefer). 2 - Does this void the Rolex warrenty? 3 - I am considering going to a nylon strap in the interim - are 20mm straps meant to fit watches with lug widths of 20mm - or do I need to buy 19mm (dumb question I know - but I am not sure). 4 - Are there any picture out there of 116710s with fully brushed SS bracelet. Would like to see some. Many thanks in advance. Cheers, MK |

You've lost me on this partner'
You say TT and SS in the same sentence then go on to say it is a 116710, but the TT means gold and stainless (116713) So, I will leap and assume that you simply mean brushing the polished center links of your SS watch.. So, here are some answers.. 1) It is really quite common. There are many of us who do not like the polished center links. Any good watchmaker or jeweler can likely do it, or you can do it yourself with the right tools.. 2) No, it does not void your warranty. A warranty is about manufacturing defects and brushing a bracelet won't affect that. 3) I hate nylon straps... But if you insist, then get a 20mm wide strap unless you like the skinny strap between the lugs look. 4) There are lots of pictures . I'm sure that some will be posted shortly..

Larry - thanks for the reply.
Yes - you are correct. I misspoke when I said "TT" - surely I meant "PCL" I appreciate the feedback. |
