Explorer II's first spring backyard adventure!
With my recent thread "Explorer II enigma," I felt the urge to do a little photo shoot of mine in its "natural element." The following are Expy2's thoughts during his adventure
Ooh, it's so pretty and cool in the Fern Forest. I want to smell those lovely apple blossoms, I think I'll climb up the tree! All that climbing made me warm, I think I'll splash in the rock fountain. Hah! Bluesy's got nothing on me, I'm perfectly happy at the bottom of the fountain pool! Who needs a Triplock!? All that fun has made me tired, I shall rest on this stone for a bit.

Nice Pictures David. It would be awesome to think these grew on trees.
This looked like fun. I liked the picture in the water as well. It looked professionally done. Terry Newton

Thanks Terry. I wish I had a better camera, as I think I might be able to take some better photos. This is what I was working with, and no tripod, hence the lack of perfect clarity in many of the shots...

Excellent pictures David! I especially enjoyed the underwater shot which gives the watch that "distorted" image when seen through the water. Amazing photography skills, have you studied photography before?
All your threads about the Explorer II over the last 2 days makes me want to wear mines today and all the way through Memorial Day weekend!

Hey Jerome, thanks for the kind words.
Actually yes, I studied photography in college for a bit, but my SLR's are all film. I'll have to spend the money for a decent digital SLR at some point.

David, great photos. It proves that having a minds eye for photos and some good lighting go a long way even when shooting with a simple point and shoot camera.
My film camera, a Minolta SRT 201 SLR (circa 1975) is in for service right now. When I get it back I will take some snaps. Get out your film cameras and have some fun too. You can get your snaps developed and also get a CD so you can post online later.

Thanks Karis and Brian!
Never thought of that, but great idea. Costco puts them on CD for a nominal charge... My macro lens and polarizing filter would do wonders for pictures like these!

David,
Great pictures in the wild. I'll have to tell you this... my wife came into the room and was looking over my shoulder as I was looking at your pictures, she just turned around and said "You guys are obsessed about Rolex watches" as she walked out the door. Thought you might get a kick out of that since I was looking at those pictures. Thanks for sharing. John

That EXP looks ripe for the picking! I wish Rolex grew on trees. Imagine if you had a Daytona tree and then grafted it with a sub tree!
