Vintage GMT or Sub?
Just thinking out loud here guys .
Please choose your favourite from the two PS - condition is same for both and both are standard matte dial watches.

While I do admire any genuine watch with the word ROLEX printed on the dial, I never was into vingtage stuff. Go with the one that smiles back at you. Padi or Mike would be the best guys to ask for advice. I'm a BRAND NEW type of guy only!! Good luck, my friend - JJ

Both fine vintage watches but myself personally would choose the 5513.Just a fraction more collectable than the GMT.But I am sure than in future times the GMT will be just as collectable, but at the moment the sub has the edge in the vintage world. And good early 5513 are now getting much harder to find.

They're both nice watches, however I have fewer GMTs than Dive watches, so I'd opt for the 1675...

Neil, as much of a fan of the GMT as I am, I have to say given equal examples I'd get the 5513.
The 5513 has always overshadowed the 1675 in the collector's eye and represents the classic Rolex tool watch. Good 5513s are getting a bit hard to come by and are hot right now. Any collection should have examples of both, but I think I'd get the 5513 first, especially as an early 70s model it should have SUBMARINER under the depth. |

I'd like a vintage Rolex and the Sub seems to be the wayto go.

I'd take the 5513. Now if you had said a matte dialed early 16750, I would have gone the other way.

5513 matte.
1675 matte does absolutely nothing for me. 1675 gilt instead....... ahhh but this is a whole other game....... |

I don't collect watches. I use them. The 16750 has the nicer movement, quick set date, and 100m WR. All in a package that looks just like a 1675.
I like my late 16750 with wg dial. Great combo of old and new. However, I would like an old matte dialed one for a traditional look.

Well since I have a 'new' vintage GMT, I would get a sub next.
