I used to think it was a just man's watch, that is until I moved to nyc... I frequently see them on women, and often it's a gold daytona on a younger woman in her 20's/30's. I love the look personally.

Whether it's a men's or women's model doesn't matter, and it hasn't stopped me from acquiring one. IMO, a daytona looks better on a woman's wrist than it ever will on mine

I don't know about all those actresses, etc, but I saw it in the flesh on Karis's wrist, and well, the rest is history!

In today's market there is no girls and guys watch...
it goes by what you gents and ladies like
My wife wears a Daytona here and there and also she wears a Cartier Tank Francaise Small and Large... So I guess there is no formula for that you just go with what you like...

I don't get the size thing. How big do watches really need to get. Next thing ya know it's gonna be like flava flav with a frickin clock on your wrist.

I think the problem lies solely in the "readability", (is that even a word?), of a watch. I've bought my wife and daughter several ladies watches over the years, (my wife wears a ladies Datejust), and even though the Datejust is a bit larger than most ladies watches it can still be a little hard to read... especially when your vision isn't what it used to be. Just my two cents worth.

Possibly the greatest answer anyone can ever come up with.

I am thinking about buying a Range Rover. However, many of the housewives in my neighborhood drive them. My wife calls it a 'chick car'. It doesn't make it true but it sure seems like it. Just the the Daytona and female celebrities.

What if it is? That doesn't make it any less of a men's watch. I happen to think the watch looks great on either sex. Pointless thread.

Generally I would agree, but when it comes to the Daytona I can't imagine anyone choosing it for its readability. Almost no point in setting the time at all, with my perfect vision I can hardly see the hands (then again, I frankly don't care what time it is...)

it is a man's watch - if women choose to wear it, or other men's items such as clothes, etc. it is their style statement. IMO on a small feminine wrist it looks silly, to each his/her own

I would love to see my wife wear my Daytona. I think she looks great when she wears the Speedy. She hardly ever wears the TT YM I bought for her. She prefers either the YM or a blue Tudor Oyster when she is not wearing the Speedy.

All Rolexes are girl watches. Do like most of us do here and invest in Timex - it's always ticking!

The Daytona fits well with all genders in my opinion. It's a universal watch. More females these days are wearing larger and larger watches so a 40mm isn't really that large by comparison to others.

I sold mine, not because I thought it was a girls watch, but because I could never find the date!
