Non- original straps
Do any of you put leather straps on a watch which are not from the manufacturer of that watch?
Case in point - I have a black dial Tag Heuer Carrera which comes on a steel bracelet. I can't help thinking how great it would look on a black calf strap. However, the only one that TH puts out for this watch is a sporty kind of black strap with large round holes and buckle, costing $250. I don't really care for it. Any thoughts? Larry |

As a Panerai owner I already have quite a few aftermarket straps and they are generally better than any OEM one IMHO of course comfort is the main objective I believe as well as good looks!!! |

IMHO i think the OEM straps and bracelets just look right [unless cost is a consideration] "Panerai is the exception" with a market producing straps specifically for and part of "The Experience" and cult

How about on a non-"cult" watch... I've got a Glycine w/ orange dial. It came with an orange strap, which I wore for a while. THEN I put on a jet-black leather strap and it is now an OMG look! I love it, wear it all the time now.
Can't wait for Halloween... Larry. |

Yep. Rolex wanted $450.00 Cdn for a leather strap for Nancy's Cellini. I found her a beautiful alligator strap for $100.00, and transferred the original Rolex buckle from her old strap to it. Looks great.

Most aftermarket straps are just as good or even better than the real straps you buy from the watch manufacturer.
