DSSD: Original Gas Escape Valve -- confusing

How come on the DSSD, they call it the "Original" gas escape valve?

Isn't the valve a new design, bigger size and different material than the 16600?

thnx

Very true ... they might be talking about functionality of it rather than the physical implementation of it ...

They didn't want to be "unoriginal".

Rolex buyers love that kind of stuff.

Well, the 'original' was on the 1665, wasn't it?

There is a bit of background here http://rolexblog.blogspot.com/2008/1...interview.html half way down.

I actually don't mind the text much on my Nascar-Rolex (i.e. the Deepsea given all the freakin' text on this watch :-))
