DD vs. Daytona

Gentlemen, I know very well that this is like comparing apples with oranges but, in general, which would you get considering what I have right now?

Its a toss between a T-Serial Daytona or a Vintage YG DD right now.

Naturally, I would go for the one that sings to me, but, unfortunately, both does

One more thing, anything to be concerned with a T-Serial TT Daytona?

I'd go for the T serial Daytona no question about that.

The vintage DD is likely to be a non-quickset and the prices of these have dropped over the years. The Daytona on the other hand probably has a Zenith movement and is 40mm (as opposed to 36mm) and as a sports watch these appear to be more collectable than DD's which are more of a dress watch (although capable of sports).

Do you want to precisely measure small amounts of time, or would you rather check your wrist for to remember what the day and date are? Seems obvious, but that's why I'd go (did go) for the Day-Date. I guess that's kind of silly of me in a way. Maybe I really just liked the DD better and the rest is just rationalizing.

You could possibly

buy these two for the price of the Daytona.....not saying that's the way to go but it might make you think....

Steve is dead on here. That said, I'll tell you this - walk into a room with a WIS or a group of WISs and the Daytona will get envious glances. Walk into a room with absolutely no WISs in it and the Day-Date will get the compliments. Don't know if this is important to you, but I can assure you that it is a fact.

Day-Date hands down for me. I am in the minority, but I am not a big Daytona fan.

You can't go wrong with either one, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have gotten the Daytona first...g'luck

Both beautiful watches and grails for many people.

Daytona for me as you can wear it with jeans or a suit - versatility wins.
