When do you think we'll see Sub-C's below list?
Just wondering. I'm new to the forum, but based on prior experience, when do you think we'll start seeing the Sub-C, either in black or green, on the forum BNIB below MSRP? Will it be more or less than six months? Obviously, it will depend on supply and demand, which are hard to know.
What do you think? L |

After Christmas at the earliest...IMHO. I think it will take at least that long to clear most lists.

I'd conservatively estimate 12 months - could be sooner, depending on supply

Is it even selling for above msrp here on trf? It seems not to have the impact as say when the GV came out.

I think that we'll see it without question.
I think you'll also see a re-birth of sales for the 16610 and the 16610LV When you have the new and old subs side by side...it is VERY hard to justify the extra cost... |

Have to disagree with you there. For me, the new bracelet and clasp is worth the extra cost alone, completely transforms the watch. The 16610 might remain popular with the existing Rolex customer base, but the 116610 will be instrumental in bringing new customers to the brand

It happened pretty quickly with the TT version of the ceramic Sub, if that's anything to go on.

That's kind of hard to predict when supply will meet up with demand for the new Subs. Also different markets in the world will add to the supply equation as they run out of new watches and continuing or starting a customer want list!!!

as anticipation for the new expy II ramps up I think the subs will be easier and cheaper to get.

Looks like the answer to this question is Aug 2010. There is a posting in the for sale section for a new sub under list.

Well if the 116610 sells in the same proportion as the 16610 and if Rolex can get production to full output a few weeks rather than months .

I remember when the DSSD and Milgauss first came out, they were actually commanding premium prices. Today, you can get them pretty well discounted. JJ

June 27, 2011 at 3:45PM Eastern Standard Time, the first Sub-c at below MSRP will
appear in the world. It will be in Philadelphia. I see the seller being male, college-educated, wearing blue.

They already sells below listprice in Germany. I guess in Europe there was not that hype that was expected. Same
with the Tudor Heritage, it's still in the windows. I guess the market is still slow.

Based on what I've seen and heard on this forum and my general beliefs...
First, it depends on where you are. It's been mentioned on this forum that watches in Greece, Portugal (PIG Countries) are all selling below MSRP and will "do a deal..." I'm sure demand is relatively weaker in those countries then say China. A serious consideration. Second, currency, specifically USD-Euro. This will help to dictate price of watches and margin at the AD level. A less serious consideration. Lastly, the least important consideration and ultimately my opinion... I don't think the new SubC represents that drastic a change, at least visually. For the average buyer the price hop justification would be non-common-sensical at best. Uh, it's another $2500-3000 for this new band and clasp, see you even get Ceramic... Ok, but with $2500-$3000 I could go buy a new Omega PO- My personal opinion is that the new SubC can be had at MSRP now. I believe a number of buyers on this site paid MSRP. I would be interested in method of payment but I'm certain if MSRP can be had with a credit card (1-3% surcharge to vendor, and 1-2% back to you) then the AD will work with your cash... You know the saying, "Cash is King." In my lifetime, I'm 27, I cannot think of a time when this expression was more true. So, my answer to your question: 3-6 months. If you wanted the Ceramic, you could have picked up a GMTIIC a while ago, if you like the Maxi Dial then you'd be aware that this was offered almost half-decade ago and if you like the improvements to band/clasp, they could be had on various models for years now. People buy SUBs for their timeless look and clean, robust functionality. To this end, the new SUBC's aren't much better than the 16610 so hype dies fast. J |

Supply and demand will determine discounting. Demand will undoubtedly be very high, at least for the next 6 months. After that only if Rolex severely limits production (which is highly unlikely) will prices not fall- percentage wise- to similar levels as presently exist for the 16610.
