Submariner and the Italian GP
I'm off to Monza in a fortnight for the Italian GP, i'd love to wear my Sub but fear the worst. Everywhere I read about going to Monza I hear about the pick pockets at the entrance gates and underground train system.
My wife and myself where in Rome a couple of years ago and where warned about thieves and pickpockets on the citys underground. In reality we had no problems, in fact we found the locals really nice people. I do think the perceived threat is greater than the real threat.....as it most often is. Anyone else been there before? If not, what would you do? The watch is fully insured and won't be off my wrist for the weekend. |

Ciao Fuzzy,
I'm italian and I can say that you can wear it without problems. You'll see there also more and more precious watches ... of course wear it without "exposing" it. I believe that the level of attention has to be the same need at London or NY. Enjoy the Monza GP and ... forza Ferrari ... Ciao Engi |

Wear it! Just exercise the normal diligence you would at any big event/city. In any event if its pickpockets you're worried about they'll go for other things first rather than a watch. As usual it will be a great event, enjoy it!! |

Not familiar with Monza but was in Roma recently and victim of the notorious pick-pocket. We were aware of it and prepared but still lost some important items in my wallet. My guess would be most crime would be of that nature - looking for cash and easy items. Enjoy your trip. Regards,
