I read that 'Don' wore a real Explorer for the shoot, but that someone goofed and gave him a newer model and not the period-correct 1016. On the actual show, I've notcied what could also be an Explorer on his wrist, but the crystal catches the light like a flat, sapphire crystal, which also would be a mistake. An acrylic crystal would be correct, of course, for a watch worn in the '60s, and it doesn't reflect light the same way.
