I don't blame you Pete some of these stories are far reaching and it would be better for all of us if they were not true.

I left out the best part because I thought no no one will believe me I thought I have to leave this out I'll get call a liar no one will believe it.

I am standing there asking about RSC with my hands on the counter wearing my Sub and he's asks What brand of watch do you have?

I mean really, can he not see the Rolex on my wrist and why would I be asking about RSC if I didn't have a Rolex did he think I thought I could send a Timex there?

A few weeks ago I would have believed him before I joined TRF I had no idea about RSC's I figured if your Rolex needed service you had to send it to Switzerland.

let me tell you that here in egypt RSC takes 5 days for complete service and regulation.

right... i think i know of the guy you're implying... one chap there is really on top of his rolex info - he might actually be one of the managers. he wears a daytona. i've heard him speak japanese with customers, though he doesn't necessarily look japanese. he's the only one in there with whom i've talked shop.

others though i'm less certain about.

there is a young guy (forgot his name) at the rolex boutique in waikiki who really knows his stuff. and their repair person is the one who i trust the most on the island.

as for timeworks, and ben bridges in general... if you don't buy your watch from them, their service sucks!

I am not doubting your story, just doubting if this person has ever sold or repaired a watch before that day?

It would be interesting from a businessman's point of view to know what is going on allowing someone with zero knowledge to be the face of their company?!?!?!

When did the length of the service warranty change? My Rolex warranty says Full One Year Service Warranty. This is from Giovanni at SF RSC, and is on a document from Rolex Watch U.S.A., Inc. It is dated 09/30/08.

It's kind of scary an AD wouldn't know such basic information about the brand they are selling...

I believe it started around March this year, Art.

Here's a thread discussing the service extension to 2 years and the change to a warranty card instead of paper.

http://rolexforums.com/showthread.ph...hlight=service

Hope this helps.

Did you talk to the watch salesperson or the security guard?
I find the story almost unbelievable.

I mean, I defend the AD's all the time that don't have a full staff of WIS that know the history of Rolex and the other ten brands they carry... but, I can't even imagine that they wouldn't know where the RSC's are?!?!?!?!

If this is true, it is indefensible!

-Pete
One long time employee of a local AD didn't even know there was an RSC in Beverly Hills when it was open. The AD has been family owned for 50+ years too.

Those that have well informed and trained employees are lucky
