In my personal experience, I found that I couldn't get a ND Sub to be comfortable on my wrist. Not sure if it was the link configuration or the fact that it sat flatter on my wrist. It was one of those situations where it would be too tight on one clasp notch, but too loose on the next one down. Very frustrating to say the least.
Another reason why I love the 16600 SD so much. Out-of-the-box fitment on my wrist with no adjustment to the clasp or links whatsoever. I think its because the higher profile caseback allows the watch to slide easier up and down my wrist. -j |

Don't thing anyone is giving the Deepsea a bashing like you say, they are just stating there opinions. While myself have tried the DSSD on and did not find it particularly heavy on the wrist in any way.I did not like the overall style of the watch compared to say the Sub or SD.

I'm the opposite of most people - having worn big watches all my life I prefer heavier ones and find light watches too uncomfortable. For this reason I don't like slim dress watches.
Also, as a Deepsea owner, I think it's actually one of the most comfortable watches to wear because of the Glidelock. |

All the models are comfortable to wear, including the Deepsea, which I wear all the time. Conversely, I do not like watches that make people proclaim: "I don't even know it's on my wrist."
I very much like to feel a watch on my wrist, and to know it is there. Ultra-thin, feather-weight, small diameter, are all negative features to me. Once again, to each his own, and this topic is totally subjective, which always makes for a good discussion.

The most uncomfortable Rolex for me is any of them that are 40mm or smaller...
Wait...that pretty much includes all of the Rolex line except the Deep Sea. I feel uncomfortable wearing small watches and 40mm is just small by today's standards. :) The Deep Sea is super comfortable to any of the haters out there.

I can see why the DSSD may be uncomfy to some, but why the Milgauss, it's not huge????

Anyone who finds their Deep Sea too uncomfortable can always send it to me, as I'm always willing to suffer this terrible affliction you going through!

I only have one Rolex but have tried on many. I'd say the opposite of everyone here. I'd say the heavier and bigger the better. I like a watch that let's me know it's there and calls my attention. I love the DSSD, but went with the GMT IIC TT. I'd have to say that any watch that was small and light weight would make me uncomfortable. I bought a Rolex... I want to feel it on my wrist. Just me I guess.

I tried the DSSD and was impressed by how compact and light it is. It's 3900m, frankly for that it's downright petite. Try a ploprof or PO chrono, on, drink some protein shake, and then the DSSD will feel like it's painted on.

I tried on the deep sea. It's big it's heavy. These are not subjective. It IS big. And it IS heavy. If you like big and heavy...there you go. But here's what...if you have 6 inch wrists, and you weigh 155 pounds soaking wet, and you are 5' 6"... You are going to look silly wearing a watch that big. In the same vein...if you are 6' 4" and you weigh 240 before breakfast and you have 8 inch wrists...you are going to look silly wearing an air king! So im all for individuality and personal expression, but certain watches are designed for people a certain size. I think the big panerais are gorgeous and even comfortable...but I would never wear one...
So I think comfort has a lot to do with a watch being the right size for YOU not the right size for your EGO... -db |

Well I'm 5'8" and 400lbs and I find the DSSD really comfortable. A puny Submariner would just disappear into my rolls of fat.

I'm 6', maybe 150lbs with 5.8 inches sweety wrist, so DSSD is exactly not my cup of tea even I like it, it's 44mm.
