I feel like I got a very good helping of style and practicality with my late model Honda Civic. One of the best car designs I've ever been in. I have the hybrid and it's kind of a pig, but that's okay for me. I think the continuously variable transmission is neato.

The 2 daily drivers are practical. A Honda CR-V and Acura CL.
The garage queen is a Mustang. A little of both worlds. |

I do my best to make sure the car checks all my boxes.
1. Style 2. Performance 3. Reliabilty 4. Cost of ownership (gas mileage, maintenance, insurance). 5. Build quality 6. Price I'm a bit of a car nut, and I put just as much research into my car buying decisions as I do watch buying decisions. In the end, the car that checked all my boxes is my Mazda 3s GT. I freaking love this car. |

"Cars... style.. or practical? " --- All of the above. Older Corvette for style, newer Camaro SS for power, GMC pickup for practicality and Lexus ES 350 for --- my wife. Honda Goldwing for fuel mileage.

At this stage, with two munchkins to haul around (who still need boosters...finally transitioned out of the car seat this summer) I go for the most stylish, practical car that I need. I really like having a 3rd row of seats. That eliminates most vehicles. I also have a small driveway (my house was built in the 1920s, when car tires were narrow). Given that, I went for the Acura MDX because it is the most stylish one that meets my needs.

Depends, I have a 911 GT3 as my sunny day drive in the countryside car, but use a BMW 330ciC as a practical winter haul my crap car.
The SO drives a camry, although she is pining for a Audi TT as her fun car... At the Utah house I have a full sized pickup (12 mpg 5.6L) which is great for hauling whatever I need it to, but I'd love to add a diesel VW Jetta (48 mpg) for commuting to the airport which happens to be 250 miles away.... |

I have a BMW 530i that I feel balances all considerations. It's fun for me to drive with 252hp, a 6spd manual, rear wheel drive, and sport suspension.
It impresses clients and bosses, has gobs of rear seat room (again for clients), and I can put four golf bags in the trunk. It has been the picture of reliability - nothing in 5 years of ownership. Very low cost upkeep due to free maintenance period. I get 26-27mpg too. Oh, and did I forget to mention I love it? :) |

BMW 328i E46 for practicality BMW 330ci E46 for serious fun with mods.
After 6 BMWs I've tried driving my sister's Toyota and a couple of Ford fleet cars, and by comparison its sort of like getting off a boat in Rwanda. In the Toyota, if you see a sign that says twisty road ahead, you actually have to reduce speed rather than dropping two gears and flogging it, and in the Ford you can't take a tight corner at full speed in the rain unless you want to die a horrible death. So my list would be: Dead animal on the seat Dead tree on the dash DSC IRS / direct rack and pinion steering / handling balance Build quality in spades 6 Cylinders or better and a great sound track. Irrespective of whether its BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, VW, Audi, or any relatives, when the Germans are not occupying France, they do wonderful things with cars. |

With cars it's 60/40 style/practicality for me. '10 Acura TL is just right.

I drive a 07 Toyota Highlander.....plenty of room....easy to get around town in and park
plus being a 4 cyl it get 27/28 on the highway and 20/21 in town. When I was young ...like 30-35 years old I had a BMW 325i I bought as a Demo in Dallas...I was trying to score points with the ladies with one.....and had some marginal success in my wild years....car was a piece of crap though...ended up trading for a new Camry 4cyl in 92 and never looked back....as stated the only new cars Ive ever bought are Toyota and will stay that way till I die. Now I just want it to start, not break down, good resale, and my wife loves it.....plus we have no car payments.....thats the best part. Unless I can pay cash for a car I wont buy it.....UNLESS 0.0 percent finance comes into play |

Me and some of my buddies had a conversation about this very thing. I think it really depends on budget. If you have the budget to buy a DD and a Sports car i would go for something like a 7 series or S class for DD and then a very unpractical sportscar for those other times. If the budget does not enable you to do that i would have to go for something that is a happy medium which i think would be a Merc c32, M3, Evo, Audi rs4 these would all be very good compromises imo.

Hey Guys,
I like my vehicles to be reliable and be able to be used. The Corolla suits my needs as a daily work commuter as it is economical and quite fun to drive with the 6 speed g'box. The the Navara is used for camping and recreation. It has a turbo diesel and is fitted with heaps of accessories make getting away more comfortable, like long range fuel tank, canopy etc, etc. Cheers |

No wife or kids, but I love sedans. I'm always on the road working, that I'm not even able to enjoy one care, much less two. My current "daily driver" is an '04 E55 AMG.
One of my main requirements is a ton of power. |

I guess I have to say for practical reasons; though I'd like to think its not completly practical. I drive a silverado with the Vmax package, it's hoped up a little too(more power than I practically need) I use it to tow mainly and as my daily driver. If I did not have to tow I would own a vehicle for style not practicality - a vehicle should be an extension of your personalitly. With that said, I do love trucks and consider certain models to be very stylish(older trucks)

Well, both myself and the wife are car (well convertible) people....in the garage is a restored 1965 Ford Mustang convertible (4 speed, and in the driveway is a 1997 Mazda Miata M-Edition (her occasional summer car), my daily driver, a 6-speed 2005 BMW 330cic convertible, and our Mazda 5 mini-minivan for the baby.

I have an '04 C5 Corvette. Great power and looks and practical for a car of this nature given the large hatchback area and mid 20's mpg in 6th gear. Completely reliable, but I've only put on 24,000 miles over the last 6 years as its used on the weekends.
Thanks, Ken |
