Submariner Serti Dials

Thinking about getting a serti dial for my TT sub. Surprised at all the various serti dials i am encountering while researching. Leads me to ask what are genuine dial / stone combination?

Also, what should i look for when buying a dial, how can i tell if a dial is genuine Rolex?

Just as an FYI - Rolex refused to install a serti dial on a Submariner that didn't originally come with one when I tried to do that once. They will do the upgrade on watches like Datejusts but for some reason the dial didn't fit unless the watch originally was made for a serti dial.

Fabuloso, you technically can. You have to ask your RSC for it. Or ask a few members here such as Steve Mulholland who specializes in dials.

I have had 2 serti dials fitted to standard TT subs over the years, the slate and the gold both with blue saphires, those are the only 2 dials rolex make, others are after market and i wouldnt touch them. The independant ADs fitted them, but make sure they are rolex qualified first, you shouldnt have a problem then......

PS the slate with the blue kit sub was my favorite, the gold with blue just didnt look right, both were useless in the dark for telling time......

Rolex also offers a black TT sub with black serti dial - at least in the new ceramic subs.

The new ceramic subs no longer offer the gold or slate serti dials. The new sub serti dials are black or blue with the diamonds on the hour markers.

I wonder if in future Rolex will offer the TT Sub in various dials other than the current blue/black with/without diamonds. I think a champagne gold dial on a black ceramic bezel Sub would look great...

"Serti" means "Set" in French. Not inserted, just set as is set with stones. They are referring to the dial being set with precious stones.

you can have any combination- blue/black bezel with slate/champagne dial. but, if your asking what goes best...
slate/blue
champagne/black

id love a slate for my tt, but id need a blue bezel too!

dont hold your breath for a serti dial on the forum- ive been looking for a year and have my details with 2 of the biggest dealers.. still no cigar..
