Commonwealth Games

Why were the games granted to Dehli or why did India want to stage the games? I know India is up and coming and the population is getting more affluent and India want to show the world what they can do.

But surely all these backfired after they have done a botch job in getting the facilities ready and projected an inept image of the country.

What happens after the games, are the local going to make use of the facilities and the athletes village is that going to be sold off, can the locals afford to buy.

Look what happen in Greece the facilities were not used the accomodation left emptied.
