setting date?

OK, I'm going to have to change the date Monday nite on my two quicksets. There have been posts on here from Ironstark and others warning about changing once the changing mechanism is engaged. So what time is the best to roll it over. I'm thinking about changing at noon on the 30th to the 31st and letting it roll over to the 1st on its own. Or should I wait till noon on the 1st and roll it over?

Thanks, Padi! I think JJ simplified it for my simple mind. About 6:30 or 7:00 PM on the 30th, I'm going to roll it to 31. In the morning it will read the 1st. Right?

Thats correct but just as easy to do on the morning showing 31st by your watch. Just roll it on to the first as long as you do it before midday.

That's right, David....as long as you do it BEFORE 8 pm.....otherwise, as Padi advised, next morning when your watch shows '31', just flick it over to '1' and you'll be fine till the end of June!!

Why not pull the crown out all the way when seconds are on zero, wind it forward manually and set exact net time. I only use the quickset date if the watch has stopped for a while and I have a 'long way to go with the date'. If you do it this way it doesn't matter when you do it.

Eddie,

I think what the guy meant was he wanted to skip '31' cause April is a 30-day month....and go directly to '1'.

Hi JJ.

Understood, but if your really worried about when to change the date because the auto date mechanism might be damaged why not pick any time to make this adjustment, wind the watch forward to skip a day and set exact time while you do it? It wont harm the watch and takes about 20 seconds.

Right, Eddie....but if your watch is already showing the EXACT time, why disturb it by pulling out the crown all the way and stopping the watch?

The best thing to do is on the evening of the 30th April, just pull the crown out to position 2 and flick the date over to 31.

The next morning (i.e. 1st May) the watch will show '1'.
