Hi guys and especially you, Johnny...

Some interesting artefacts from our museum. The skis belonged to Sir Edmund Hillary and he actually used this very pair during his long expedition in 1959 across the Antarctica. The gloves too are his, but they are still in pristine condition as they may not have been his regular pair. There is another older pair, worn to the bone, which he must have used during the long expedition.

Johnny, do you recognise the brand names?

I'm sure those manufacturers went the way of the Dodo a long time ago. Never heard of either. I'm assuming the skis are Norwegian?

Interesting bit JJ, thanks for posting. Now if you had the watch he wore when he summited Everest, that would be quite an acquisition for MOTAT!
