For me it's like building muscle. I build it up and break it down only to get bigger and better. I sell only to "upgrade" but the big picture is to have a half a dozen vintage examples but I am sure I will have more if finances permit as this will be a lifelong pursuit.

Thought about it but instead I've tried to cull the number in my collection to just the most desirable [for me anyway] vs cost. In a financial pinch [only] I'd sell all but the GMT which will land on my son's wrist AFTER my ashes are floating down the Ohio River.

Unfortunately, I did something like that two years ago. I was going trough very difficult period when it comes to finances, and most reasonable thing to do was to sold as many watches as I can.
Now I can only regret...and start saving for next collection!

I've considered this many times, and still am thinking about it. In many ways, I think 2 watches is ideal, but I can't decide which 2!

I just finished a major downsizing. I realized that I don't need many watches to be happy--and feel "lighter" if that makes sense. Sold off two vintage Rolex(es), my Omega PO, and my vintage Seikos. I appreciate my SD more now, and have "bonded" with it. Sometimes simpler is better, IMO. I've taken this approach to other areas in my life as well, and have simplified all around.
I know only have: 1. SD 16600 (For Friday and weekend duty) 2. MKII SeaFighter Type IIc on Isofrane strap (For Monday-Thursday duty) |

I wanted to, but, seemingly, I cannot!
Once I got my 16523 all serviced and ready to sell, I couldn't do it!
