Pink Rolex Real? Help!
Just purchased (yes I'm asking a little late) a pink OysterpPerpetual women's rolex with a pink face circa 1960's (1966?). Everything seems to check out from the pictures, but i noticed that most similar watches have the words"
"Superlative Chronometer on the watch face below the center of the watch, yet this watch the words do not appear on this watch—can anyone advise??? Maybe I'm being paranoid, but i can't find any authenticity references that mention these words on the face as a perameter for authenticity...I've attached pictures. Thanks in advance!!! |

Im skeptical, yet everything looks good so far.
It's difficult because there is little available data regarding authentic faces...or which years said what on the face. |

I'm no expert, but the movement doesn't look too bad. I think it could possibly be real

Just found some interesting links regarding color faces: http://www.wannabuyawatch.com/indpages/31675.html
and http://www.wannabuyawatch.com/customdialrolex1.html So do jewelers apply MODS to Rolexes just like people do to cars? Any thoughts? |

Watch is fine in the 1960 1970s they were called exotic dials, there was red, yellow, green, and sky blue. They had them as well and in the mens watches too but don't think there was pink dial in the mens.

I guess I'm opening up a whole new thread regarding "Partially restored" Rolex's.
It appears there are many retailers out there that repair or modify rolex's with new or replacement parts. If the bulk of the watch is original, does a replacement part necessarily make the watch "Fake"? |

If you went on that criteria, then everybody who put a NATO strap on would have a "Fake".. Of course, there are some folks who just like to push peoples buttons and cry "FAKE" if the spring-bars aren't correct..........

Think I just answered my own question. The watch is real, the face has been Customized...so I guess its a little like my lowered Saturn Vue with 20" Wheels...
anyway I think my wife will love the pink, I guess thats all that matters... |

Paul Smith, the British clothing designer known for suits with rainbow colored linings, wallets and socks, carries these in his boutiques. They are custom painted dials - they stock them in tons of colors.
