RSC NYC: Responsible, Service oriented, Customer satisfaction
RSC NYC: Responsible, Service oriented, Customer satisfaction
Yep, that’s my experience with RSC, NYC. We have discussed many times on the forum about all the unpleasant experiences people had with RSC:NYC. So, with all those thoughts in mind, I stepped into RSC, NYC with my Sea-Dweller. Issue was that it was stopping within the 40 hrs of power reserve on full wind. Warranty was up in March 2011 and hence wanted to get it checked. Me: The watch stops before 40 hrs with full wind. I guess there is an issue with power reserve. RSC: Ok, let us take a look at it. Takes the watch inside and comes back after few minutes….. RSC: Sir, as this is such a new watch, would like to see the warranty before we do the inspection ME: I have the warranty card at home and the warranty is not on my name as I am the second owner RSC: Was there any jeweller involved in the transaction? ME: NO, I bought the watch directly from the owner (True) RSC: That should be fine then. Please fax us the Warranty info and we will be glad to inspect the watch I faxed the warranty card the next day and after few hours received a call from RSC…. RSC: We have inspected the watch and decided to do a “Full Factory Service” covered under warranty. It will take us about 3 to 4 weeks to finish the service. Will call you when the watch is ready and you can pick it up Me: Thanks so much!! In my mind …… after all not that bad…. ah !! So, after 3 long weeks, I got back my Sea-Dweller minty and running stronger than ever. Mythbuster: Warranty follows the watch, not the owner !!(of course, when no jeweller is involved) |

So do they just go by the date on the warranty card then? Also, did they do a full polish and shine on the watch?

RSC NYC must have been reading all the negative posts about them on TRF & changed their M.O.

I guess they treat warrenty repairs better then cash paying repairs. I'm happy for you, but my experience is completely the opposite of yours. I'm not going to get into again as I've said what needs to be said before, but I'll never use them for service work. My recommendation goes to the SF-RSC and its quality service. I like it where you get to actually speak to the watchmaker(owner) one on one and he does what work you actually need as opposed to trying to inflate the bill with unnessary work you don't need.

So, I guess they replaced all the parts and gaskets that they usually do during the full movement service but the receipt did not have the details on what else was replaced to fix the issue. |

They did less than acceptable service on 2 watches for me. Dallas for me all the way.
