A gentleman takes his watch off at night and places it in a position beside the bed to be visible. This prevents the possibility of scratching your partners delicate skin should the occassion (or anything else) arise. This also provided a convenient way to time yourself. |

I never sleep with it, One of the first nights I had it I did leave it on but when I woke up I hit the headboard by accident and I scratched the bracelet, I said that wont be happening again! I also take it off while showering
BUT! If I am out of town it does not leave my wrist even to shower! (paranoid) |

I guess it's what you get used to. I've been wearing mine 24-7 the last few weeks after not having done so for years.

Mine's been on for a couple of weeks now. Havn't really found a need to take it off (unless I'm switching straps).

I take mine off every night when going to bed. Like many others here, it never leaves my wrist when I travel.

I have always worn a watch when I go to bed and it is no different w/ my SD but it does bother me a little b/c I can actually hear the ticking through the pillow if I stick my hand under my head. I have to move my hand away from my ear or it bothers me. Small price to pay I suppose.

I don't sleep with my watch on as it is too hard on the band. Most ADs who sell Rolex say not to sleep with your watch or rings on as it wears them down over time. Many a diamond has been lost from a ring because the claps/ prongs became worn and could no longer hold the stone. A band can get damaged when sleeping with your watch on I bent the clasp on my SD when I feel asleep with it on by mistake the safety clasp would not hold had to be replaced.

Actually i heard the same thing from another guy. I have friend that scratched really all the band while sleeping. And guess what it was 5 hours after he purchased the watch.

Do new rollies take to time to "wear in"? I was wearing mine all day the other day, took it off at around 6pm and it stopped at 9pm. Now, I don't move around a lot at work - at a desk a lot - and I took it off at lunch for a 2 hr gym session. Is that normal?

And I think it is true: I have had my SS Sub Date EXACTLY for ONE month today, having bought it on Friday, the 27th. of July. To start with, my Rolex went 1½ seconds fast a day. Then about 14 days afterwards, it was nearly THREE secs fast a day. At that time, I popped by at my AD to ask him about the reason of this "double-up" change and whether I should have it adjusted, but he told me "Come again in a month's time, because adjusting it now would make NO sense!". But now it seems to have settled to just a bit under ONE sec a day BTW: Wow, I am hooked! Because after having sat in front of a PC all day, also posting here, what do I do as soon as I come home?? EXACTLY
