Greetings everyone, my name is Andrew and I have come to you in hopes that some one might know more about a watch that I have.

Unfortunately I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to watches and I only know a little about the history of this watch. I inherited the watch back in the mid 90's from my Grandfather and before this point I never even knew he had the watch. My grandfather worked for the Canada Steamship Line and after 25 years of service he received the watch as a gift.

After some research I attempted to locate a serial number on this watch or any information located between the lugs at either the 12'o'clock or 6'o'clock position and no information is located there. I am starting to think this watch might be a fake but I was hoping for some input from someone who has more of a passion for watches than myself.

I appreciate any about how genuine this watch is or any additional history someone might have about a Rolex watch gift from the Canada Steamship Line.

Maybe a better question is, do you feel this watch is simply an elaborate 40 year old fake or real?

Hi there, welcome aboard!

Because its a snap back and not an oyster case, the conventional Rolex oyster serial numbering might not apply. Can you remove the case back (should pop off and snap back on) and post pix of the inside of the back and of the movement?

P.S. However it shakes out, its a great momento of your Grandfather.

Hi, a very nice watch and i'm sure it genuine, you have the full set of paper work to, which shows model and serial which match the watch. It looks like it needs a good clean and service. Enjoy the watch.. You might like to take a look at the 'James Dowling' book 'the Best of time' I'm sure it will give some info on this particular model.
