Toasted GMT Update - Good Folks at NY Service Center
Some of you may have seen my previous post with photos of my damaged SS GMT-II. Here's a link: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=15772
Well ,I sent the watch in to Rolex USA in NY and was surprised at how reasonable the repair costs were. I explained the whole story and included a copy of my receipt for identification purposes. Basically they are charging me only for parts and doing the repair work for free! For those that are interested, the interesting parts of the the 2-page repair quote are shown in the pdf attachment. Can't wait to get it back! |

That is not bad at all! I pay close to 400us for 'regular' service. Please post pics when you get your 'baby' back!

How great...so it appears that only outer parts got fried, and not the movement. You were lucky. When I saw that photo I figured that the movement was melted or fried.

that movement service and case finishing alone is about 500 bucks.
glad that they somehow give you a break there.

Glad you will escape from this poorer but wiser! You could have been placed on the Rolex blacklist and never allowed to own anything but a Folex again!
