Help finding a Sub LV green insert
Hi Guys,
Haven't seen a thread on this in a while but has anyone had any luck sourcing a green LV bezel insert lately? My AD says they can order them but Rolex is requiring the watches serial number before the order is processed. My problem is I am trying to get an insert for my standard 16610 so my serial number wont match a LV. Any help you can provide is much appreciated. If you have an AD that will sell the insert to me without a LV serial number or if you have one to sell, please PM me. Thanks! |

I recently brought in my new LV into NY Rolex service center that needed service as it is 5 years old and not working properly. As part of normal service they wanted to change the bezel insert. I said ok only if they let me keep the old insert. They said they treat the LV inserts as "trade in only", meaning you can only get a new one if you trade one in on an original LV sub. Just my two cents.

Interesting that it is relatively easy (they come up) to get a black bezel insert for an LV, but such a no-no going the other way.
I understand your plight, but am not overly sympathetic to your cause. Watch manufactures assist in keeping the value of our watches by either only allowing parts to be replaced in their own repair centers: JLC, Panerai or the more liberal policy is exchange only to certified watchmaker such as Rolex. For example the cost of a maxi dial and insert for the parts is probably less (insert is $110, haven't priced out a dial) then the difference in the cost of a 16610 and 16610LV.

I think thats they way Rolex protects the LV product. Why would anyone buy an LV if you could get an insert so easily. It sort of keeps the product special.
