Platinum Yachtmasters are not true TT watches.. Only the dial and the bezel are Platinum

The actual dial is platinum, and so is the bezel. The bracelet and case are steel.

what's the point of making dial out of platinum when it is gonna be hidden from view?
And then painiting it so you can not tell it is platinum or even touch it?

Case and bracelet are plain s.steel, only the dial and bezel are 950 Platinum. The bezel weighs in at 10 grams the dial around 5 grams so total around 15 grams, but thats the full size model. Not sure of the weight of the ladies model, on the mens size model its around $700 worth of platinum on todays scrap price.

The other Rolex platinum models however do have full platinum case, bracelet, etc. (hense why has a super high price tag) The YM is a SS watch with a little bit of platinum thrown on it via bezel and dial to make it affordable to those who can't buy the more expensive full platinum models.

It isn't painted over, so you can see it, just as you can see the mother of pearl or meteorite in rolex models that use those for dials. The platinum dial has a very unique look.

I have some fairly decent photos of a YM in the for sale section right now. Dial is pretty I think. Bezel too!

Now by bezel you mean not just the insert correct? The actual rotatable bezel assembly? I have a platinum ring that weighs around 10.2 grams.

That has a white gold case and bracelet, with a platinum bezel insert - the standard YM, as Karis said, has a steel case and bracelet, and a platinum dial and bezel insert
