President 18K white roman dial bought from Time and Gems

Hi guys!

We have just purchased a Day Date president from Time and Gems and are waiting for the delivery.

I will receive the watch on the 5th of September! Yes, I asked for a late delivery, because I need to time it with my mate who is transporting it to me in Sri Lanka.

I must say, Jason at Time and Gems has been extremely helpful and quick in his communication. The price was affordable and if the watch is 'like new' as described and pictured, I would not be any happier dealing with another. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

I will write up a full review of the service I received once I do receive the watch.

I am also looking for one for myself, a 18238.

This one will add to my fathers collection, and its a gift to him!

Have a look at the pics, isn't she gorgeous ?

I think my dad would prefer to wear it with croc straps on most days! So I ordered two straps as well! Time and gems will also supply a spring bar removal tool and spare spring bars, so my dad change straps when he needs to.

Wouldn't she look gorgeous on a black / brown croc strap! This is our second president, my dad already has one with a black dial with diamonds. Diamonds are way too blingy for my liking. Especially when you have over 2 ct of them on the dial and bezel.

Thanks Eddie, i'm glad you agree!

I thought the dial looks the best as well. Understated, elegant and timeless for sure. :)

That is a stunner. I am partial to the white face, but that looks amazing.

Thanks!

Thanks guys!

I never thought I would buy a rolex for myself, but after looking around for one for my dad, I have decided to own one for myself! It grows on you doesn't it? I have been fond of my Omega Double Eagle and thought it was one of the nicest looking 'manly' watches around. I love the play of gold and stainless together. Have a look at that pic below!

Gerardo and Newrolexman, those are beauties! did you get your lugs polished? Or is that how you bought it? It does look good with polished lugs.

That is one beautiful watch and a classy dial. I have a DJ with a similar dial..... Roman Ivory Pyramid.

I know what you mean. I find the white and silver dials to be the most classy. The tapestry finish is beautiful too. Arabic numerals look a little funny.. the roman numerals are the best!

hi Pradeep!

I just saw this post as I was searching for some info on Time and Gems? Have you got your watch? How did you find the service and was it as described?

I have an interest in a watch from them, the price is right, need some feedback from someone who is dealing with them.

thanks dude.

time and gems

Vincent!

Welcome aboard, I see you are a new member!

I am yet to receive the watch, I am guessing it will be with me during early september. I hope to write a review of time and gems when i do receive it. Up to now they have agreed to all i've wanted.

Hold in till first week of September, and I'll give you feedback.

Chipmunk.. Roman Ivory Pyramid is one of my favourite dials too! Thats the one I want to get for myself. The white dial is for my dad, unless he decides to give it back to me!

I have purchased a Rolex Datejust from Time and Gems and it was exactly as described. The service was superb, the folks there were most helpful and the watch was carefully packed and shipped. They also offer an extended warranty for pre-owned watches. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with them!

Hello Vincent! I am hardly on the forum now but I got your message as I had an alert setup on this thread.

I'll keep it short and sweet as I don't have much time. Please save your money and buy from someone else who is more reputed than time and gems. I had a bad experience and sucked the fun out of buying such a time piece. It was not as pictured, it was not as 'described' (i.e. it was not 'like new'), and their advertisement was misleading.

The most ridiculous part was that Jason Smith of time and gems (the CEO I think) thought that I was asking for too much when I wanted to know if the watch that I bought was really a 1985 like I was promised at the beginning, his words were along the lines of 'why should it matter, there is no difference between a 1985 and 1979!'

Anyway, what they sell to you is NOT what you see in the picture!! Honestly does the web page advertising the watch ever mention that!! NO, it doesn't , if it did nobody would buy it right?!

The authenticity of the parts used in the watch were questionable, the local rolex dealer said it sertainly wasnt authentic. They had simply put together various parts from various watches (of the same model maybe) and called it a 100% genuine rolex... a laughable claim eh?

Anyway.. Vincent.. please do not get caught to these scams.

Save your money and buy from a reputable seller on TRF who I have heard keep to their word.

Certainly concur with Pradeep's assessment of Times and Gems. My experience with them has also been unpleasant. Customer service before purchasing is "fair" at best, and after payment, service drops to "terrible".

Definitely try sourcing your watch from one of the reputable dealers here on TRF.

Pradeep, your watch is still a beauty though!

Just thought I'll clarify that its the same bunch of rogues who run Time and Gems and Watch Empire. Please stay away from these internet scams unless you can physically go to their shop (if they have one) and purchase it then and there after getting it checked by a rolex technician.

I just found out that the clasp on my bracelet has been replaced from a much older bracelet, so although the bracelet looks new, the clasp is all old and wasted, and it shows clear signs of fiddling.

Please do yourselves a favour, buy from an AD or from one of the Rolex forum reputed sellers that everyone raves about.

What I received was NOT the watch that is pictured up there! it was a much older watch.. showing way more signs of wear. I would have been happy if they just gave me what was pictured! I paid for the one that was pictured.

I probably will never own one like yours, but I really, really like it. Then again, who knows, I never thought I'd ever own the one I have on my wrist. I tried one out exactly like yours a few months ago at my local AD and I just fell in love with it.
