GMT2c clasp...
Hello everyone,
I hope you are all well. I know that the incidences of clasp failure are inconsequential in relation to the number of these watches out there. However, I had a good look at the set up of the clasp today and the area I refer to in particular is the welded attachments that hold the bracelet and the swinging fliplock closure. The actual surface area welded is tiny, I personally think that the fixtures should extend further into the bracelet thus having a more solid attachment. I am sure they are more than capable of withstanding any forces or pressure that that area of the watch may receive I would just like it to be a little more sturdy... |

Rolex has a pretty good record of changing stuff like that when a real problem is identified..
It will be an interesting study to compare the early iterations of the clasp with later versions over the years.............

I think the new clasps are a huge leap forward and, to my mind, a lot more suited to the price points the brand now positions itself in. I can't believe the YM hasn't been 'upgraded' yet... |
