The only way I'd go green is with the 16610LV. Not too fond of the Hulk ceramic. Otherwise, black all the way, either 16610 or 116610.

I went past my local AD a couple of days ago and just glanced at the display as I was in a rush.
The LV-C was there in the middle of one of the biggest selections of Rolex Sports models and it was the LV-C that caught my eye and I stopped to have a good look. Of all the watches on display, this was the most striking.
As others have said, the dial is black for a lot of the time and then at just the right angle you see the green flash from the dial.
This watch needs to be seen in daylight in order to see the effect properly. AD lights are too harsh and photos using flash just show the green dial and do not hint at the colour change that occurs.
The LN-C is a black watch, great if you do not have one already but not different enough if you have other black dialed Rolex in your collection.

Black is much more versatile. The colored watches have a more casual look-- this goes for blue, as well. If you want your watch to really stand out, though, pick green.

IMO, the colored-bezel watches look more casual but not sportier.

I think I can sum up my thoughts by using the philosophy that now guides my life-- "what would James Bond wear/do/say?"

Black is classic, more versatile, the Submariner has always been BLACK...

BUT: I LOVE the GREEN one, I am happy to own both, and the GREEN dial is simply fantastic in different light!!!!

Conclusion: Have both, black for daily wear, green for your pleasure!

For me I like the green- but I just like that color/look.
If I were buying it, I'd go black.

Someone asked if you have another "dive" watch. If you do, then I'd go green.

Rolex itself has the black dial depicted as the epitome of style their official website.

Black works with suits.

While the green is certainly eye catching and unique I would be hard pressed to recommend anything other than the black dial/bezel combo for a versatile daily wearing watch.

In TT the black was (and remains) my choice...The black in my opinion just looks better both in TT and in YG than the new blue and goes with all colors. The new blue, on the other hand, beats them all in WG....IMHO.

Sorry, I was thinking black vs. blue in TT (I was responding to thewrong post!). Love the ceramic green....would be my choice in SS.

A rolex stands alone, don't try to match clothing. Go with the one that says I'm the one. I had a 16610LV for over 2 years, I wear a suit and tie everyday, and never worried about matching clothing.
