1969 Era Submariner

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted here but I had a quick question for you Rolex Vintage Guru's. I found a local watch and gold buyer that has a 1969 Vintage Submariner for sale. I have not seen it yet as it has just been sent off to a Rolex watch servicer in Florida. He said it will have all the boxes, papers and should be in almost brand new condition when he gets it back from being re-hauled. He said it will be between $5000-$5400. Would this be considered a good buy?

It would be nice to see a picture, but if the dial is original and it comes with box and papers...yes, imo.

Impossible to answer this question without full pictues. It could have service dial--hands replaced-be overpolished--have thin lugs and no chamfers/bevels. Who knows??? If it is perfect and 100% complete--it would be worth more of course.

It all depends on what this comment truly means "should be in almost brand new condition when he gets it back from being re-hauled".

When I buy vintage watches-the last thing I want is it to be in brand new condition!! I want old and scratched and pure vintage baby with a perfect old patina'd out dial and hands!!!
