GMT II or Sea Dweller...which one?
Just curious if you had to choose one (GMT II 116710) over the other (Sea Dweller 16600), which would you choose and why?
Not sure if there was a previous thread on this topic. Look forward to seeing your comments. |

Well, I already have a Series Y Sub...and a GMTII Pepsi.
I would pick the GMTIIC over the Dweller, but that's due to my collection - and the fact that I like the Maxi dial, Ceramic Insert and the green on the dial / 4th hand. This would be my first watch with PCLs as well. That's the way I think - but it would be interesting to hear what you are factoring into your decision. |

SD, I like the NO cyclops on a tool watch; also NO branded rehault. It really retains the classic tool watch image.

Choice follows function
Do you travel across timezones? Do you dive recreationally or professionally?
My preference as I travel is for the GMTII. |

Sea Dweller by far. It's a timeless classic, and much better looking.

Sea Dweller 16600 without a single doubt or hesitation. I have owned both and the SD was the one I found to be a true keeper.

I wear the GMT most of the time. It is so comfortable the sometimes I dont even know that I wearing it.
However, If I have only one choice, to have only one .............It has to be the Seadweller. Thats why I have 4. Seadweller is legendary in its own right. beautiful, none like it. Not even the Sub. |

Sea Dweller over the GMTII c, but older GMT II over the SD. Not a fan of the bling and sapphire.

116710 over 16600.
It has maxi dial, AR coating, ceramic bezel, blu parachrom hairspring, and the BRACELET/CLASP! I think the clasp is a good enough reason on it's own. Go to the AD and try them both on if they still have a 16600 in stock. You will see what I'm talking about. |
