16800 question
recently I was looking at 2 different Rolex 16800 I have. One with a matt dial and one with a shiny dial with gold surrounds - both in good shape. I bought them from different reputable dealers several years ago. Here is the problem: Both watches have sapphire crystals and on both watches the date looks smaller then my other Rolex watches. Is this something due to the first run of sapphire crystals or was I sold watches with after-market crystals?
Thank you |

I have always found that because of the thickness and height of the plastic crystals vs the sapphire the numbers appear smaller in sapphire.. they are probably fine

16800 date size
Thank you! I thought it too weird that both 16800's date numbers looked smaller when compared to others with plastic crystals.

Humph!
IMHO, it is the sapphire that is doing "funny things..."
