Rolex hunting in Qatar

I shall be heading out to Doha, Qatar in a few days time and was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to go Rolex hunting (ADs/vintage etc)? Also any idea what the prices are like out there - I was thinking about adding an SS DJ or possibly a TT Daytona to my small collection.

My colleagues will no doubt want to race dune buggies, worry camels and search for Irish Bars but I thought a few hours trying on and discussing watches would be a far more enjoyable way to spend my time..........before I join them in the bar.

I was in Qatar from this past November to January. I picked up a PAM119 and 116713. The Rolex was $8317 there but $8925 in the US. The price in Qatar is not over $9k but there is no sales tax.

The only spot I know is in the mall. It is five stories tall. There is only ONE Rolex store in there, and it is the home store of some other name like that. They sell TVs, perfume, Rolexes, and other stuff unrelated. But at one end of the mall there are a LOT of watch places. Walk around and check out the many many stores.

I just called it the Doha Mall, I do not know the real name for it, but it is the only one that is five stories. Search on this site for DOHA and you will find a thread or two of mine.

Enjoy!

Many thanks for taking the time to get back to me. Sounds as though there are a few good places to have a look around.

Last time I was out and about in KL, Malaysia an AD offerred me an "under the counter" Z series SS Daytona at a healthy $3000 USD over list price....who knows what I will find this time.

In fact if you see Rivoli here from this exact angle:

Turn around 180 degrees to see MODERN HOME that has Rolexes!

The airport has a duty free area about the size of a 7-11. Nothing like going through Germany.

Hi Logi,

I notice all your posts are put forward in this same, monotonous telegraphic manner....and with the same question each time.

Maybe if you tried a different approach, you might get a few answers.

Just my opinion.

Indian keyboards have no periods.

Well, it sounds good anyway.
