I consider the SS Sub date to be.......
As far as professional models! I consider the SS Sub date to be the classic standard. How do you feel?

But I would add "Diver's watch" to "classic standard", since there are many other Rolex watches that could be considered as being "standard classics" in their own right.

Even though I own an SD, I voted yes since it is iconic. However the true dive watch would be the SD.

I'd guess that it's the most recognizable (and copied, counterfeitted, and "homage'd") of all the Rolex professional models.

Yes! I agree that the SD is the true dive watch, which I also have. I guess you can say that the Sub is the default between 100m and 4000 feet.

And lets not forget that the Sub first came out in 1953!

Well, the Sub no date would make more sense to vote on because the Rolex seen across the world was in the 007 films since the early 60s.

Maybe I should rephrase it to say which Sub is more desirable date or non date.

I voted no. Most popular, yes. But for the classic Rolex sports watch my vote has to go to the Submariner (non-date)
