Another little striptease - JLC BE content...

Realized that I hadn't shared this post with my friends on TRF.

I took delivery of this piece last week, I just haven't had time to post anything yet. I had looked at this watch when it originally came out but I was somewhat snowed in on large divers at that point. I came to the realization that I needed something dressier on leather but not over-the-top so I managed to negotiate a transaction on this one

[Borrowed photo]

I was debating between the ss and the rose gold models, the latter being too expensive but I think this Boutique Edition with gold hands and markers hits the sweet spot. It makes it more retro and unique.

I've worn this piece to three different functions/dinners already and oh-how-it-sings! :-) Pure classic with a round 40mm case. Dressy but definitely not a pure dress watch as the chrono function makes it a bit more sporty and fun. It has that certain Jaeger-LeCoultre je-ne-sais-quoi which makes it somber, understated, educated and elegant. JLC really managed to produce a timeless classy watch with this release, one that I can be confident I will wear for many years to come.

Cheers,

Patrick

Hey Patrick...lovely choice. It looks great on your wristI agree about it's dressiness but the chrono function pulling it out of remaining 'boxed' with that identity. A more versatile watch than that and an excellent addition to your colection

The boutique edition (limited to 150 pieces ww) is no longer available, but it had the same price as the SS version which is $9,850. The rose gold version is a lot more.

If you have a good connection would an AD you should be able to get a solid discount on JLC so it becomes quite a bit cheaper than a Daytona. And wow, imagine, you get a date too! :-)

Great looking acquisition, Patrick. JLC is terrific brand and you truly have a classic timepiece. The gold hands and markers were indeed a good choice IMO. I was on a recent quest myself for a "dressy but not too dressy" watch. I ended up with an IWC Portuguese Chronograph but also went for a model with gold hands and markers. No date feature on mine but it sings sweet music to me nonetheless. Congrats!!!

Chris, I had my eyes on IWC as well but pulled the trigger on the Ltd Ed JLC when I got a chance.

Incidentally, it is already back at JLC for service...

First, I'm sorry to here that you had a problem requiring service. My personal experience with JLC service (via Richemont Technical Center in Ft. Worth) was very good. I'm sure they will take good care of you.

The Limited Editions can be pretty special, and I would have likely made a similar choice had an opportunity presented itself. I hope that beauty is returned to you in perfect condition very soon.

Yeah, it went back to Seth at the Boutique with a little wiggle in dial when moving the stem/crown. Shouldn't be that way, I have no worries that they'll fix it promptly and take care of me.
