Icon4 Found Rolex Submariner

Hi Rolex Forum,

I'm currently living in Australia.
On the weekends in the early morning (4am) for 2-3 hours I spend my time in the ocean braving the waves metal detecting for treasures.

I have found many items (rings, watches, earings, necklaces) but probably the most exciting item I've found recently is a Rolex Submariner watch. I had no idea of its value until I did some searching on google for its model numbers etc..

Model Number: 0552/923-7697 599/76.

I hope it is actually a genuine watch, are there any signs I should look for that would mean its a fake?

The watch looks identical to the linked watch below. Including face plate, markings even engraved stainless arrow on the back with engraved text on both side's of the watch where the straps loop through.

The only difference is the nylon bands are black/grey and not completely black.

What should I do with it?

Can you post a photograph of the actual watch you say you have found together with a piece of paper stating your username and today's date

Thank you.

If you want, I could buy it. I have recently come into some money from a rich Nigerian prince, and am just waiting for my check to arrive

Thats an excellent idea Eric - thanks for volunteering to do that.....

Please book yourself a first class ticket flying with Emirates as soon as possible.
If you would'nt mind paying for the ticket upfront and then send me your details for payment via Western Union - and I might as well, make both payments together......

You know it makes sense - this way

Absolutely, there's a remote chance of finding a watch in the ocean, BUT the one pictured here, is not your average sub, but a very rare military model. So chances are slim to say the least.
