LV Cyclops ...
Haven't posted in a while but, well, I am now officially hooked. Have an Explorer I (my first mech watch ... and my first Rolex) and an Omega SMP. I thought I would be done after that but, ever since I saw the LV Sub, I can't get it out of my head. There's something about that green bezel that really appeals to me. However, I'm not a big fan of the cyclops -- which is one reason why I bought the Exp I. Read on another forum that Rolex (The AD ?) will remove the cyclops for any customer that desires such removal. Is this true ? And, if so, IF I bought it and had the cyclops removed, will it substantially affect the future resale value of the watch ? Thanks. |

I'm not sure if removing the cyclops will really have an effect on future resale of the watch, as a crystal is easily replaceable. I don't think an AD would be inclined to remove the cyclops for any customer, even though it's only glued on top .... I dropped my 16233 once, and the cyclops came off, however the glue residue was near impossible to get off. (needless to say, I went to get a new crystal).
If you don't like the cyclops, why not consider a sea dweller? (Probably because you like the green, right? ) |

I think realistically it would reduce it the price of a new crystal. If sent to Rolex for service they'll replace with a cyclops .... at your cost.

Please send old removed cyclops to me. I would like a couple for my Seiko 031.
