Counting the days ?
so, your prized watch is currently being serviced at RSC, do / did you sit counting the days or just try to forget about it & await it's return ?
mine's been away for 11 weeks tomorrow, 4 on estimate, 7 at service

Seems like an awfully long time... 4 weeks for an estimate?

It does seem like 4 weeks for an estimate is a bit excessive????
But more to the point....THAT'S why you need two watches..... |

Makes you think at one time Rolex was making around 900000 watches a year but now it takes 11 weeks plus to service one.

Geez that is along time, did they say how long it would take? As recomended a second one would help during these tough times.

Hang on here, is this normal, at least in the USA. I was planning on sending one to the Dallas RSC.

was initially quoted 12-16 weeks, it then became 18-20, & all that on top of the 4 week estimate wait. RSC UK claim the delays are more than usual due to moving the service center elsewhere. one things for sure, when it finally gets here i'll be giving it plenty of wrist time.

I expect that it's the one in your profile pic so I can completely understand why you're down.....maybe you could just wear a 16600 to put your mind at rest!

I currently have 2 out for service, the 1630 with Bob Ridley and a Sub which went to the Toronto RSC yesterday. The 1630 should be back any day now, looking and running like new. Lots of green background pix to post then.

I have had the NYC RSC service three watches in the last three years. TH only time it took more than 8 weeks was when they needed to get parts from Switzerland. The estimate took about 3 weeks for my '73 Submariner. But the last 2 watches in the last year they did not send an estimate because the original service quote of $700.00 was not exceeded. It seems that they are noe saying up front that the base cost of service is $700.00 and if the cost goes beyond that they will come back to you with an estimate for approval.

At least when it gets back it will look like new, and it will be all worth it in the end.

When you will receive your watch back please post some pictures. I'm curious how it will look after the service, because first it was in very nice condition from the pictures i have seen...
